Boating, Wake boarding & More in McCall, Idaho - When the summer temperatures soar in Boise, escape to the forested mountains of McCall, Idaho, just two hours away! If you don't own a second home or know anyone who does, no problem! The restored Shore Lodge is my pick for a great stay! I Love the Lake Grill Restaurant for an afternoon appetizer and gorgeous view of the lake. You can enjoy a cool drink while the kids stay busy swimming in the Payette. Don't have a boat? Casual Dining at Lucky 13 or Bens Crow Inn - Both of these casual dining spots are come as you are! Just a short bicycle ride from just about anywhere in East Boise! Great places to show off your new cruiser or see someone you know. For more info click Lucky 13 Pizza ( my favorite pizza is Jalapeno and Blue Cheese!) Or try Bens Crow Inn for a more "Biker Bar" experience. At the Crow Inn you have to order clams, mandatory!! Both are on the Boise Green Belt and they are both perfect for after a River float, day on the lake, or bike ride!

Family night in Downtown Boise - Have a bite to eat at Protos Pizza ( try the Low Rider pizza)and take in a movie at the Downtown Boise Edwards. Float the Boise River - I have to say I resisted this idea for the first few years we lived here. Finally my son and husband convinced me this was a good time. Guess What!? It is a blast on a really hot summer day! Grab a few family friends, the more the merrier, pack some snacks, drinks and a powerful water gun! Take your blow up boat to Barber Park and just follow the crowd! (Just don't fill your boat too much... they can explode as we found out!) click here for more info.
